My Favorite Tech Product: Sonos

I've had Sonos for over 2 years and want to just give quick props to what a fabulous product it is. Sonos are small shoebox size devices that sit in any room in your house and allow you to wirelessly play digital music in any room of your home via a handheld iPdod-like controller. Connect one of them to you home network and the rest network on their own independent network with each other. This allows you to control each individually or multiple rooms together, or even the whole house. All without having to wire your house with anything.

The customer support at Sonos is stellar. In a world where I've come to expect frustration from customer support, I was amazed at my first encounter. At the time I purchased, it was in its first year, and they didn't "officially" support plugging into a wireless network. I bought a wireless bridge to bridge the sonos system to my wireless network and had some issues. When I called customer support I got a gentleman who seemed truly interested in helping me get it working regardless of whether Sonos supported it. He spent a lot of time with me on the phone and in email exchanges. He even proactively checked in on me and once I had it working, checked back a couple weeks later. I was sold. The cool part is, 2 years later, I haven't had a single problem and have never had to contact them. This product is nearly flawless.

Not only does it seamlessly broadcast my digital music from my personal library, it allows you to use your own preferred music subscription service including Rhapsody, Sirius, Napster, and Pandora.

This is one of the most plug in and go products I've ever seen. Sonos has put a lot of thought and time into making a superior hardware product coupled with superior and very user friendly software to drive it.

Sonos makes me happy.
